NOAH23 x PICTUREPLANE "TROPICAL FRUIT"
For those not in the know, Noah23 is a fucking legend.
Steadily releasing mindbendingly esoteric, weird “occult trill” hip hop music from his home city of Guelph, Ontario since the late 90′s. With classic albums such as, “Neophyte Phenotype”, “quicksand”, ”Crab Nebula”, and “Technoshamanism” to name a few, Noah has been holding it down doing his thing mostly flying over the heads of a dumbed down populace for his whole career. Feeling the trappings of being a misunderstood underground abstract rapper, Noah23 chose to retire from rap in 2011, only to resurrect himself after a year long hiatus with the insane and amazing, Wing Foot album which was released for free on the winter solstice, December 21st, 2012.
Which brings us to now.
“Tropical fruit” is the first single off his new Ep of the same name due out on his birthday, February 10th. With production from fr<>ze, ephelant, and toy trains, it’s sure to be dope. It seems like in 2013 Noah23 is about to finally hit his stride, and I couldn’t be happier. He is One of my favorite rappers of all time, and has been an inspiration since i started making music. when unicorn kid stopped through new york a couple of months ago, i got a chance to interview him for newtown radio along with my friend DOM, using a myspace quiz for teens! here is how it came out... there were a bunch of questions that they edited out. but enjoy!! unicorn kid is one of my favorite artists.. so this was a lot of fun and such a pleasure!! he has got such a bright future ahead... gotta wear those shades! big shoutout to the legend, DOM!!

so, it is happening.
i am moving away from my beloved home of 8 years, DENVER COLORADO, to the wild wild world of BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
i am looking forward to branching out, meeting new people, and growing as an artist.
it is 2012 and i am embracing change in the universe and doing what feels right at this point in my career and life(style).
onward to the future!
i will be driving in a small uhual truck containing my belongings east from denver to new york, stopping in certain cities to play shows.

i made a new mix exclusively for GUCCI GOTH. it is called YOU ARE A TERRORIST, YOU ARE A POET.Made up of using lots of delay and slightly slowed big room and anthemic 120bpm house music. Think of Ibiza in a k hole. But with a light at the end of the tunnel. Everything I do is filled with love. There is no tracklisting because a lot of the tracks are very very different sounding than from what they sound like normally. The title of the mix is a literary reference to the essay “Poetic Terrorism” by Hakim Bey. The mix is meant to give strength to the listener.

not unlike my video for "negative slave", that was shot all while traveling through mexico, "black nails" is taken from video all shot while i was traveling around russia, specifically the cities of kazan, moscow, and st petersburg. the majority of the video was all shot at a chemical and plastic factory in a heavy industrial on the outskirts of Kazan. everything is orange because of enormous smokestacks shooting out massive fireballs that would illuminate the entire forrest, and the air smelled of poison. it was really quite a scary and apocalyptic place and i have never seen anything quite like it. everything is so very different in russia than america, and i really wanted to capture the amazing spirit of russian culture and to portray the classic "russian soul", that my russian friends say is becoming lost from russia. the smaller videos mixed with the animation were all shot on my pocket digital camera, and include scenes from inside of cathedrals, leonardo di vinci paintings, and crowd footage from a shows from famous russian thrash band, Master and by the popular russian pop/punk/rap group, narkotiki, which just means "drugs" in english. all of the animations were done by a local denver artist, and one of the founding members of rhinoceropolis, milton melvin croissant III.

video taken from a very special 285 kent show in williamsburg, brooklyn in july. this was my record release show for "thee physical" and also the hottest and sweatiest show i have ever experienced. it must have been over 120 degrees inside the warehouse during my set. you can notice in the video that i had to remove my shirt. shoutout the geniuses teengirl fantasy.
