the always brilliant and charisma oozing KATE MOROSS and myself did somewhat of a collaboration (she did all the work) on a new 12'' records for her always brilliant and charisma oozing record label, ISOMORPHS.   basically this girl rules.

she designed all of the sleeve artwork, and also a t shirt to go along with the record. 

the idea stemmed from my interest (obsession?) in semiotics, symbol systems, and occult meaning in symbology.

the term "true ruin" is about the death and transformation of the human species and our current level of consciousness. 

in other words, the final "ruination" of our current worldview and dimensionary placement.

 and that is not a "star of david"

we (again, it is all kate, all i did was dance around in her studio while she filmed me) also made a music video to promote the single "TRUE RUIN"

BROKENCYDE YOUTH

a week or so ago, famed phenom "crunkcore", band ( i almost just typed the word "artists", but hesitated) BROKENCYDE played denver. over the past year, i would keep returning to their bizarre, misogynistic, confusing, hilarious and horrifying video for their breakout "hit" called "freaxxx" .  whenever people watch it a common question is "why is he screaming?!" .



 to me it represents everything that is wrong in suburban youth culture. a steady diet of suburban alienated screamo, MTV reality shows, youtube, and the worst aspects of pop radio somehow are alchemically equalized inside of their rabid/vapid teenage fanbase.
but somehow out of all of this, a really interesting and fascinating subculture of kids started basically because of brokencyde and bands influenced by brokencyde.

always interested in subcultural identity, fashion, and groupthink, i rode my bike down to photograph the line of youths outside their sold out show.



most of the kids were really excited that i wanted to photograph them.

the results were beautiful.

so, if any of you know me, you know i am a huge fan of the genius chilled out house music of TEENGIRL FANTASY...... so when i just happened to come across this new jam by nick weiss of teengirl fame and hunx from HUNX AND HIS PUNX (who i saw at sxsw this year. they were totally crazzzy) i was like "oh man, i am like, so curious about this"

i guess they are calling the project H.U.N.X  
i dont really know what it stands for. maybe  HUGE UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR XLERATOR.
that is just a guess though.

but what i am not guessing about is the awesomeness of this new song they have created together. it rings true to anyone who has ever been lonely or horny or both. (straights and gayz have the same feelings)
